Immersive Summer Coding Bootcamp (ISCB)
What is ISCB?
Immersive Summer Coding Bootcamp (ISCB) is an immersive one week program that aims to introduce 13 to 17 years olds to programming and game development using “Scratch”
The objectives of this summer coding bootcamp project are:
- To introduce youth to programming
- To coach youth to create a basic video game
- To expose youth to careers in technology
- To connect young technology enthusiasts and trainers around the world
- The training will be entirely online for this edition and the learners will be able to do the practical exercises on their personal computers thanks to the guidance of the trainers.

At the end of the program, participants are expected to create a fully-functional video game.
Requirements to apply
- Youths between the ages of 13 – 17 years
- Have the ability to receive training in the English language
- Have a PC or electronic device to connect to the internet
- Must have access to reliable internet connection
- Must be present throughout the program
- No prior programming experience required
- Have a desire learn the coding
- Can be located anywhere in the world
Structure of the program
- ISCB is a 100% 1-week virtual program
- Program will run from July 11 to July 16
- All training will be delivered via Zoom. The Zoom link will be sent after you receive a registration confirmation email
- Day 1
- Understanding a computer
- Human vs computer languages
- Understanding the role and function of a computer programmer for a computer program
- Day 2
- Understanding algorithms, scripts, and storyboards
- Welcome to “Scratch”
- Introduction to video game development
- Hands-on programming
- Day 3
- Hands-on programming – (2 hours)
- Day 4
- Hands-on programming – (2 hours)
- Day 5
- Hands-on programming – (2 hours)
- Day 6
- Closing ceremony and presentation of final games – ( 1 hour 30 minutes)
